Organic Alfalfa Research & Development

We at WAMCO have made a strong commitment to develop alternative uses for dehydrated alfalfa. Each year, WAMCO budgets dollars for research to determine Alfalfa-Green's inherent value as a natural fertilizer as well as a fertility option for organic grain farmers.  Our research has taken place throughout North America, from here in east-central Saskatchewan to Eastern Canada or to the sunny fields of Arizona.  Some of these trials are in the early stages, while others have preliminary or final results.


While the majority of our most recent research has focused on the benefits and application of Alfalfa-Green for the reclamation, landscape, turf and horticulture industries, we do have some animal feed trials.

We know alfalfa is a versatile plant and we hope to continually expand our knowledge and uses for this incredible crop. Some of our research results you will find below:
