Animal Feed

 

Alfalfa makes a great additive to any feed ration as it provides extensive benefits to all different species.  Despite being a plant source, the phosphorous it contains is 100% available and unbounded by phytate, making it readily available to all animals.  As well, our alfalfa is rich in available vitamins and minerals and is quite durable making it low in dust and fines.  The production process kills any weed or undesireable particles which makes it an ideal feed for animals or handlers who have respiratory ailments. It's a highly versatile feed ingredient that can be used to bring up the forage quality, or to decrease the volume of concentrates being fed.

Other attributes are:

  • Highly palatable, therefore increases Dry Matter Intake (DMI) and Average Daily Gains (ADG).

  • High Relative Feed Value of approximately 150%, where 100 is considered a good feed value.
  • High levels of Beta Carotene, a precursor to Vitamin A which may have a role in improving fertility and disease resistance in cattle and horses as well as provide yolk and skin pigmentation in poultry.
  • An excellent amino acid profile containing lysine and sulphur-containing amino acids.

  • 60% of the protein in the form of bypass protein.
